CEF Malaysia 25th Anniversary, 15 October 2011

What abundant blessings we had at CEF 25th Anniversary
celebration. Friends of CEF came from
far and near. Old friends of 25 years
and new friends from the recent training came to join us in the
celebration. What special blessing to
have my Standard 3 school teacher and her husband, my Sunday School
Superintendent who was also my mentor, joining us at the celebration. OA pastors from Tanjung Malim came in a
vanload. CEF Thailand sent two
co-workers all the way from Bangkok to join us. My home church Senior Pastor,
Youth Pastor, lay leader and other church members from the Mission team and the
pianist came in a vanload all the way from Penang. And with them is the Master of Ceremony, Kam
Hong, who was one of my first Good News Club students back in 1982. The GNC was started after my 5Day Club
training at my home church, before I joined CEF as a full time worker.

What a blessing to have my GNC student from my 1990s GNC when I was
staying at the Happy Mansion Apartment in Petaling Jaya. Alex came to GNC when he was seven and his
brother, Douglas, was five and sister, Emily, was three. Now working in Penang Alex came and shared
his testimony. Unfortunately, Douglas
and Emily and their parents were not able to join us in the celebration.
|
|
Then we also had with us Brian and Adam. Unfortunately, Garry was not
able to join us because he was not well.
These three brothers were my neighbours and attended the GNC at my place
in Kepong and later moved to CEF office.
They are now attending Youth Fellowship. What an abundant blessing to be able to see
three decades of GNC children grown up and now serving in church.
We praise the Lord for friends who cooked a feast for the over 200
guests. We thank the Lord for all of you
who took time to come and join us in the celebration. We thank the Lord for those of you who were
not able to come but prayed for us. We
thank the Lord for some of you who gave your time and money to help with the
anniversary.

|
| A mother of the siblings of my former GNC answered the call when I
called to invite her now grown up children for CEF 25th
Anniversary. This is what she said the
moment she recognised me, “We were just talking about you. My grandchildren are big now and if only you
are still staying here and teaching the children like you used to teach my
children every Saturday. |

|
I want to send
my grandchildren to your place for GNC.”
She is a non Christian who was sceptical when I first taught her
children about the love of God and salvation in Christ but as the years went by
she began to encourage parents in the neighbourhood to send their children to
GNC. She told these parents, “GNC had
done my children good. It will do your
children good, too.” After 20 years and
you have a mother, now a grandmother telling you I want to send my
grandchildren to GNC to learn what my children had learnt. What an
encouragement! That is a good enough reason for me and for you to continue to teach
the children the Word of God. The truth
had set these children free. And they
shine for Jesus in their own homes.

New Ministry – OA Ministry
|
Thank God for the opportunity to conduct a Bahasa Malaysia (BM) Super
Seminar Basic for the Orang Asli (OA) at Tanjung Malim. A group of 30 young people their pastors came
together for the two-day seminar at Batu Pecah Church, Tanjung Malim.
Not that my BM is very good now but it is God’s abundant goodness in
providing this opportunity to serve in spite of my weakness in the
language. With the help of some of the
pastors and the participants who helped me along when I was lost for BM words,
we managed through the two days of learning together, working together, laughing
together as the Lord increases the burden of our hearts for the OA
children. I was so conscious of the
Lord’s presence as many of you prayed for me during the two days and it kept me
going with my limited BM.

| Workers |
|
Pray with us that the Lord of the Harvest will send forth His workers
soon. Pray for these workers that they
will be able to work in unity and humility, filled with God’s courage and
determination to face the impossible when it seems everyone else has lost their
courage and determination. They will
persevere for God’s glory and their integrity before the Lord. They will continue to claim the sovereignty
of God, and they will run hard to finish the race.
